Hooker Highway

So here's a random fact about the new place that I live....it has this stretch of highway that Richard has  named "Hooker Highway" because when you drive down it there are hookers everywhere!!!!! Now....we're not exactly near Milan here so this highway is out in the middle of nowhere, and the prostitutes aren't allowed to be in the towns so they perch themselves in pullouts and under overpasses along this one stretch of highway to make a living. It is INSANE. I have never seen anything like it!!! I've seen hookers in the big city but these ladies are hanging out in small pull outs off of a country road dressed in practically nothing!!!!  I have no idea how they are not completely covered in bug bites. They even bring plastic chairs to sit on and you can see them all sitting there, texting away and chatting. We saw one getting picked up. Apparently its a pretty busy trucking route and there is a lovely(yes sense the sarcasm) little motel on that stretch as well which I assume rents by the hour. Charming!!!!!
Pretty freaking crazy to drive by though!!

About Me

My photo
Milan, Italy
I am 34 years old, married to my wonderful husband Richard and mother to a beautiful 8 year old daughter named Reese. We lived in the suburbs of Calgary until January 2010 where I worked as an ER Nurse. Then my husband was transferred to Vancouver for a 6 month temporary project. Our blog Tripping over the Sidewalk told all about our adventure living on the 30th floor of an apartment building in the middle of downtown Vancouver. Then we moved to Milan, Italy for 18 months, Ciao-Eh was the online forum for our Italian adventures. We moved to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates in January 2012 and lived there for two and a half years. Sandscrapers, Souks and Sand is the blog of our adventures in the Middle East! We are now happy to be back on a little acreage just outside of Calgary where I'm sure more adventures await!!!!
